This isn't a corporate project or a product trying to sell you something. It's a passion project, put together by someone who works in tech and got tired of watching the people they love get caught out online.
I work in tech and I've spent years understanding how things can go wrong online โ how accounts get hacked, how scams work, how a single reused password can unravel someone's entire digital life. It's something I think about a lot.
But what really pushed me to build this was much closer to home. Over the years โ at family dinners, catching up with friends, chatting at networking events โ I kept hearing the same thing: "I just use the same password for everything." Or: "I clicked a link in an email and now I don't know what happened." Or simply: "I don't really understand any of this."
As a parent, that hit harder than anything. I want my children to grow up feeling confident and safe online, not anxious about it. And I want my parents, my friends, and the people I meet to have the same knowledge I do โ without needing a tech degree to get it.
So I built this. Not as an expert talking down to people, but as someone who genuinely cares and wants to make the complicated stuff feel simple. Everything on this site is free, jargon-free, and written with real people in mind โ not IT professionals.
No jargon, no scare tactics. Just clear, honest advice that actually makes sense.
Everything on this site โ every tip, every resource, every tool recommended โ costs nothing.
Written with family, friends, and everyday internet users in mind. Not tech teams.
Online threats evolve. This site grows with them โ new tips and resources added regularly.
Artificial intelligence is everywhere โ in the tools we use, the content we read, and increasingly in the scams people encounter. Deepfake voices, AI-written phishing emails, and fake images have made it harder than ever to know what's real.
That's why I've added an AI awareness section to this site. Not to make things feel more complicated, but to help you understand enough about how AI works to spot when something feels off โ and to use it safely and confidently when it's genuinely useful.
You don't need to become an AI expert. You just need enough awareness to protect yourself and the people around you. The free resources page has some brilliant starting points, including courses from Google and the University of Helsinki that are completely beginner-friendly.
If you're new here, the best place to start is the "Start here" section โ three simple habits that make the biggest difference.
